Abstract
Family, domestic and sexual violence is a major health and welfare issue in Australia. By being responsive to patient presentation and behaviour, GPs can play a pivotal role in the health response to domestic violence. An awareness of how to respond appropriately can help GPs provide the best support and advice for patients affected by domestic violence.
