Pancreatic cancer awareness

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month worldwide. In Australia, pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate (6%) of all cancers and is one of the leading five causes of cancer-related death. Around 2500 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer annually.


Updated guidelines for type 2 diabetes

The Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) has an updated algorithm for the management of type 2 diabetes, providing an approach incorporating older and newer blood glucose-lowering agents. The accompanying position statement also outlines the risks, benefits and costs of the available treatments.
