Endometriosis prevalence

One in seven women in Australia aged 44 to 49 years has endometriosis and the rate of hospitalisations for the condition doubled in women aged 20 to 24 years over the past decade, finds a new Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report. Data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health were used to estimate the prevalence of endometriosis in women born between 1973 and 1978 and in those born between 1989 and 1995. By age 31 years, 6.9% of the former group and 9.2% of the latter group were diagnosed with endometriosis. Read more at: https://www.aihw.gov.au/reports/chronic-disease/endometriosis-in-australia/.
