A new blue–black macule

Abstract
Homogeneous blue–black pigmentation with a blue–white veil may be seen as an expression of melanoma regression (tumoral melanosis).

    Case presentation

    A 75-year-old man developed on his upper back an irregular black macule (0.7 x 0.4 cm) with a small black satellite (Figure 1). The black lesions had appeared in a four-month interval after his last skin check. The surrounding skin was markedly sun damaged. Two melanomas had been removed previously from his back.
