Improving out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival rates

The Heart Foundation and Heart of the Nation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to increase community and government action relating to CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) access and use. The partnership will begin with several targeted pro­jects that place more AEDs into rural and semi­rural areas, with a focus on edu­cating the community about the location of the AEDs and interactive community education sessions to give confidence to community members to respond while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
