The article ‘Benign prostatic enlargement and lower urinary tract symptoms: an update on treatment’ by Dr Deanne S. Soares and Associate Professor Darren Katz, which was published in the May 2025 issue of Medicine Today (pages 12 to 18), contains an error. In Table 2 on page 17, prazosin is stated as not being listed on the PBS or RPBS for BPE or LUTS. This is incorrect. Prazosin is listed on the PBS with unrestricted benefit.

The article ‘Migraine in 2025: an update on management’ by Dr Tamsin Hilliard, Dr Jason C. Ray, Dr Elspeth J. Hutton and Professor Richard J. Stark am, which was published in the June 2025 issue of Medicine Today (pages 40 to 48), contains an error. In Box 2 on page 45, ‘rizatriptan wafer’ is listed under ‘Nonoral options’. This is incorrect. The wafer formulation is an oral option and the heading should read ‘Alternative preparations’ with a footnote to clarify that these are nonoral absorption preparations (except the wafer), making these valuable in patients with nausea. In the ‘Triptans’ section on the same page, a sentence states that ‘rizatriptan and sumatriptan are available as nonoral preparations for patients with prominent early nausea’. This is misleading, as rizatriptan wafers are dissolved on the tongue before swallowing for oral absorption and sumatriptan is available as both oral and nonoral formulations.
