Abstract

Intrauterine contraception can provide an effective ‘fit and forget’ form of contraception for women of all reproductive ages.

Article Extract

Intrauterine contraception (IUC) provides a first-line, highly effective and cost-efficient long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) option for women of all reproductive ages. Uptake of IUC is relatively low in women in Australia at about 5% compared with, for example, 16% in Sweden.1
